The author read it in Basel in the summer of 1932 when she had still vividly in mind the impressions of her fist voyage to Europe. About the Author:
Eleanor H. Porter (1868 1920) wrote a number of bestselling books, including Just David, The Road to Understanding, Oh, Money! Money! Dawn, and Mary-Marie.
Katherine Anne Porter (1890-1980) was the author of many volumes of short stories and the novel "Ship of Fools. Winner of the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize, she is one of America's most distinguished women of letters.
