About the Author:
David R. Grant was born and brought up in Edinburgh. His varied career has included being a crofter, fisherman, jackaroo, sheep-shearer, member of a film crew, expeditions leader and ecologist/wildlife manager. He has made excursions to the remoter Scottish islands, to Arctic Scandinavia and most of the western Sahara Desert, been a hostage of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and for a number of years owned his own horse. His trip round the world in a horse-drawn caravan was the first of its kind, and earned him and his family an entry in the Guinness Book of Records.
