About the Author:
Margaret Anderson was born and educated in Scotland and graduated from the University of Edinburgh with honors in biology and genetics. She has worked as a biologist, a statistician, and a writer in England, Canada, and the United States. She is the author of ten novels for young readers, including the award-winning In the Circle of Time and The Ghost Inside the Monitor. Nan Field has a B.S. in biology and science education from the University of Wisconsin and aM.S. in wildlife biology from South Dakota State University. She has taught biology and environmental science at Bellevue Community College, Western Oregon State College, and Oregon State University. In 1988, Nancy and her husband Donald R. Field (a forestry professor at the University of WI, Madison). They have three children, Peggy, Andrew and Don and three grandchildren, Kendall, Reed and Robby.
