I still remember one of my earliest drawings: a gigantic letter H, standing between lots of small ornaments and shapes. The title doodled underneath was "The Garden of H." Everything I still love today was in there: letters, nature and veggies. After studying graphic design and illustration and becoming a vegetarian and part-time gardener, I rediscovered hand-lettering and the joy of drawing food. My art is inspired by the vibrating colors of fresh fruits and vegetables found in gardens and farmer’s markets. I love exploring the flavorful, often simple, combinations of the vegetarian kitchen, using fresh and unprocessed ingredients to prepare tasty dishes. I’m delighted that I can combine my passion for hand-lettering, color and vegetarian food in this book of illustrated recipes.
