Als sie auf der Suche nach einem Kellner Job ist landet sie in einem persischen Lokal und ist begeistert. Doch Sam der persische Besitzer des Lokals möchte sie nicht einstellen. Aber Tracy bleibt beharrlich und wird aushilfsweise eingestellt. Bald stellt sich Tracy als absoluter Glücksgriff für Sam herraus. Sie ist sehr schnell kann sich die Bestellungen sehr gut merken und spricht sogar ein paar Worte persisch. Sams Lebensstil fasziniert Tracy . Er hat 2 Frauen die beide ausgesprochen hübsch sind und sich mit Tracy anfreunden . Tracy beginnt sich mit Sams Kultur auseinander zu setzen Sam versucht sich dabei als Lehrer obwohl er nicht alle ihre Fragen beantworten kann und bald kennt sich Tracy besser in Sams Kultur aus als er selber. Beide verlieben sich ineinander und Tracy wird Sams dritte Frau. Ein herrliches Buch in dem nichts ist wie es scheint!!!! Beim lesen ertappt man sich in Klischees zu denken und genau das erahnt Mc Carten und zerstreut diese Klischees auch gleich wieder. Das Buch ist eine Satire und ein Spiegel über das Fremdsein , die Bewunderung und Faszination für fremde Kulturen , die Angst vor anderen Kulturen und die Klischees die ein jeder im Kopf hat , mag er sich auch noch so aufgeschlossen geben Sprachlich machte es mir großen Spaß . Es ist witzig, spannend und voller Überraschungen . Toll ist wie der Autor einem den Spiegel vorhält und man sich selbst ertappt in Schubladen zu denken. Meine absolute Empfehlung . Schon lange nicht mehr ein so kluges und messerscharfes Buch gelesen. - Anthony McCarten (* 1961 in New Plymouth) ist ein Romanautor, Theaterschriftsteller und Filmemacher aus Neuseeland. Leben: 1987 schrieb er gemeinsam mit seinem Freund Stephen Sinclair das Theaterstück Ladies Night, mit dem sie internationalen Erfolg hatten: Ladies' Night wurde in 12 Sprachen übersetzt und gewann 2001 den Molière-Preis. McCarten schrieb weitere 12 Theaterstücke, mehrere Drehbücher, einen Gedichtband, Kurzgeschichten und fünf Romane. 2015 wurde er für seinen Film The Theory of Everything (Auf der Suche nach der Unendlichkeit) für zwei Oscars nominiert und gewann zwei British Academy Awards.
